Sorry it was the early hours of this morning when I left my no terrible idea comment so let me expand a little. I used to be a courier, not for Amazon but for a parcel delivery company. The money they estimate is never true and this is for a number of reasons. Firstly you have to assume you can deliver all your parcels (people need to be home) for every neighbour you have to visit it makes your time go up while your payment for that one parcel remains the same (ie say $1 but for that you have been to two houses). 2nd, you would need to take out business insurance as you are in effect a self employed business owner. 3rd there is wear and tear on your vehicle, you will stop start, break pads will wear quicker, your car seat where you are in and out will not feel as soft and a load of other associated issues. Then factor in what happens if you get held up, traffic incident, breakdown, sickness. Watch out for Dogs and angry people, all of which can make your day pants if you happen to come across a really aggressive one (yes I was bitten by a dog more than once and threatened with violence on several occasions. They say you can pick and choose your own hours, what if you want to work from 6am until 8am, are you happy with people knocking on your door at 6am to deliver a parcel. I would probably be asleep and not even hear the door. As regards signage on a vehicle, do you want to advertise your car or truck is full of Amazon (or other brand) parcels for an opportunist thief to smash your window and grab while you are walking up a drive way or across the street (trust me this happens ~ yes it did to me). So is this really such a great job, for some the answer will still be yes, but after reading this would it still look so attractive to you ???
Ed Troxell Creative it can also be a great job and I have loads of funny experiences of the people I met on my rounds, including a lady who swore the had not placed any kind of order and had me walking up her drive several times before accepting the box and then declaring she had forgotten about her dog ordering a bed. Some days you had to shake your head and walk away
Welcome to the show everyone!
The show will start right after this commerical 🙂

Such great insight! The wear and tear on the car is something I think we all forget about.
It’s one of those things that flies over our heads because we just see the $$$ part.
Thank you so much for this valuable insight!

And knowing what neighbour it at war with another while asking them to take in parcels can be a minefield
Val Robinson I bet
