LOL..well Ed, I think the secret is finding the niches. I have spent the last 14 years working with web development companies, marketing agencies, and print shops. And now I am offering my experience to entrepreneurs through online courses. So that not only can they can build the brand they have been dreaming of, but so that it will attract their ideal customers.
Well, that came out like an ad…lol. Shameless self promotion…geeesh.

Yes, QuickBooks, but I feel like it’s overkill for how simple my business is/will be. 😬
What version are you using? I have online and pay $15/mo I think. But depending on what you really need you might be able to get away with just a simple invoicing system in say PayPal or Stripe might even have it – I’m not sure on that one though.

Yes, and paypal makes it so easy for me to get paid, and order the product that same day. It allows me to be impressive to my clients…and that is priceless.

Consulting and coaching paid up front online. Rare exception (previous clients who were with me prewebsite) I’ll serve then invoice. School psychologist work is invoiced weekly.

I explained this to a client today. I keep pricing fair and reasonable by limiting overhead like invoicing and accounts receivable follow up.

I tell clients that I will start their project upon payment…so that tends to get them to pay sooner than later. Everyone always wants it done last week. LOL…

I’m used to working at a ladies where I recorded hyper detailed descriptions of work (when hourly). Then sending them monthly. We’d write off fee sometime, but show the work…It made it easier to get payments…and for a judge to award fees to us. (Now, this is my mentality for hourly work… Details)

For one program clients receive a welcome package in the mail after first payment. Included in the price.
Digital is great, but you can stand out more…with a physical card, and you can include a business card or two…it matters.
